Relief Trip FAQs
Can I go on the next trip? Yes. We welcome new volunteers.
What is the minimum fundraising requirement? Each person is asked to raise a minimum of $1,000 in funds or supplies to support our community programs.
How much does the trip cost? Trip cost (excluding airfare) will be based on dates, length of stay, lodging, and ground transportation needs. Final pricing is not yet confirmed.
What airport will I be flying into in Tanzania? Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO)
Where will we stay? Our base camp is Springlands Hotel in Moshi, Tanzania, where our teams have stayed for years.
Do I need a passport? Yes- your U.S. Citizen passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your travel dates.
Do I need a visa? Yes. A Tanzanian tourist visa is required. You will obtain your Visa on your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport - $100 (USD) cash exact change required.
Do I need traveler’s insurance? Yes. Coverage is required and can be purchased through our travel agent.
Is it safe? Yes. We travel with trusted local partners and guides, and volunteers are never alone when outside the hotel. We have long-standing relationships with our accommodations and local organizations.
What about food? The Springlands Hotel provides buffet-style meals with a wide selection. When away from the hotel, we dine only at trusted, safe establishments.
